1. THE ARCHITECTURE OF TRUST

EMBER v2.0 is designed as a sanctuary. We believe that what you cast into the void should remain yours. This document outlines exactly how your data is processed, stored, and protected within our systems. By using EMBER, you acknowledge these practices.

2. SECURE AUTHENTICATION

Authentication is handled securely via industry-standard identity providers. When you initialize a spark (sign up), we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We do not have access to your plaintext password, and your credentials are encrypted at rest.

3. CLIENT-SIDE ENCRYPTION (YOUR STARS)

When you cast a "Star" (a journal entry), the content is encrypted in your browser before it is ever sent to our secure cloud storage.

• We use military-grade encryption algorithms to scramble your thoughts on your own device.
• The encryption key is generated dynamically using a combination of a secure server-side key and your unique user identity.
• Because the decryption process requires your active, authenticated session, no one else—not even our system administrators—can read your entries.

4. OUR PARTNERS (AI & MEDIA)

To provide features like "The Echo" and image searching, we securely communicate with trusted third-party services:

• AI Processing: When you speak to The Echo or cast a star, your text is temporarily processed by an external AI provider to generate a response or determine your mood. Our AI partners do not use your data to train their models. Your text is analyzed in real-time and is not permanently stored by them.
• Image Search: The Prism feature allows you to search for images. Your search queries are sent to external media APIs solely to retrieve image results.

5. BURNING THE PAST (DATA DELETION)

You have the right to be forgotten.

• Stars (Entries): When you drag a star into the Event Horizon to "Burn" it, the record is immediately removed from your sky and marked for permanent deletion from our cloud storage.
• The Prism: When you delete an item from your Prism vision board, the record is immediately and permanently destroyed.

6. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the Void constitutes acceptance of those changes.
